We are seeking a highly innovative, experienced, and exceptionally professional Senior Systems Engineer. This individual will be a part of the systems delivery team within Plastiq and will be responsible for all systems engineering and support tasks across technology portfolio. This position is located in Boston, MA.
Plastiq’s Senior System Engineer will be responsible for supporting all systems tasks within technology portfolio, including production, QA and development. The responsibility will include administration, automation and maintenance of systems, management of security information, communication with hosting providers, maintaining and managing build and packaging systems and supporting source control and versioning.
The Systems Engineer will be working as a part of software solutions delivery team and will provide valuable input on systems architecture, deployment methodologies, security, scalability, vendor selection and hardware purchases.
Production deployment & support. Develop production/operations plan to support the live site, including ticket monitoring, incident management, upgrades, vulnerability scan response and patching
General administration of remote Linux Servers (RHEL, CentOS)
Production monitoring, log management and aggregation.
Develop & maintain backup and recovery strategies for servers and databases
Setup and maintain database replications
Help to troubleshoot system issues
Manage password, certificates and other secrets.
LDAP management and integration.
Build and deploy candidate systems for QA and development on EC2.
Implement security policies and procedures for PCI compliance purposes.
Own product packaging and installation procedures.
Own continuous integration and source control versioning and branch strategies
7+ years exp in the position of system engineer/system administrator.
Advanced experience with Amazon EC2
Understanding PCI DSS compliance requirements is a plus.
Experience with LAMP stack deployment, maintenance and hardening a must.
Advanced scripting ability.
Understanding of deployment and maintenance of JVM application servers (Apache Tomcat)
Experience with Enterprise network technologies such as WAF, load balancing, web traffic filtering, etc
Security (LDAP, public/private keys, certificates, passwords, two-way SSL )
Jenkins & build management experience desired
Source control experience (GIT preferable)
Experience with Content Distribution Networks
Familiar with HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, Message queuing, HTML / XML, Proxy servers, VPN, Cron, Ant, Yum/RPM.
Excellent organizational and communications skills
BS/BA degree in related discipline required.
