About the team:

Lookout's development and operations disciplines are tightly integrated. We have a core, elite Operations team and we're looking for another experienced engineer. Our cloud is the backbone of our service and provides constant support of mobile clients in the field, enabling them to receive real-time threat protection, backup and restore their data, find and protect their lost devices, and stay connected 24 hours a day. The vast majority of our users connect to the service on a daily basis, resulting in billions of requests per month. The performance and reliability of our cloud is paramount to our success.

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer / Administrator to join our rapidly growing company. In addition to bringing a deep set of technical skills to build a world class IT department, you should be able to roll up your sleeves and own big and small challenges found in a startup environment. Responsibilities
Management of internal helpdesk requests
Provide 24×7 support for troubleshooting of issues related to critical infrastructure components
Design, develop, deploy and manage highly available and scalable systems
Assist in the development of core IT processes, including Change Control, Configuration Management, Policy Development & Enforcement, Documentation, & Scripting
Perform ongoing maintenance and management of systems infrastructure, including administration tasks, patch management, and hardware/software maintenance
Automate everything from desktop deployment to monitoring and management
Proactively monitor internal security, stability and performance
Collaborate with key business partners to identify areas for improvement with current systems and actively work to improve the quality, reliability, and supportability of existing infrastructure
Experience
5+ years of a mixed Windows/Linux/Mac OS in a SMB environment
5+ years of Network experience – (Security/Firewall, Layer2/3 and WAN techn Guru in Active Directory management and related networking services such as SSL, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and IPSecologies)
Experience with management of both on-premise services and hosted resources with a high emphasis on security and scalability
Experience with deployment and management of open source resources (SmokePing,Cacti, Zenoss, OpenDirectory, etc.)
Experience with performance tuning, package installation, patch management, network and server management issues
Skills
Deep understanding of LAN/WAN security concepts, techniques, systems and experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems
Strong working knowledge of VMware ESX environment or related virtualization platforms
Ability to gracefully react to high-priority requirements with little or no notice, providing clear documentation and follow-through.
Ability to balance competing priorities and work alone or within a team equally well
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Excellent reliability, dependability, and trustworthiness
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, able to work well with a smart, passionate and growing team
Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment
