Overview
As Senior Technical Consultant, you will work directly with customers to accelerate and extend their adoption of Drupal. On each project you will define Drupal deployments that meet customer requirements and implement those solutions in their environments. You will develop new modules to meet customer needs and contribute to the Drupal community. Customer satisfaction will measure the success of your engagements. Acquia will use your experiences to continue refining and evolving our solutions. You’ll also have an opportunity to participate in one of the richest Open Source communities in the world.
Responsibilities
Help clients to design their Acquia deployments in the context of their overall social publishing, existing infrastucture, and other Inter-/intranet applications.
Complete all stages of the implementation process in both an individual and team capacity. These stages include requirements/design, installation, configuration, customization, testing, training, knowledge transfer, and operations.
Become an active member of the Drupal community and acknowledged expert on Drupal technology and social-publishing scenarios.
Support Acquia sales and marketing team on the technical aspects of their work. Work with clients to scope engagements, analyze risk, and plan their enagements.
Develop thorough and readable documentation that is technically accurate, fulfills engagement objectives, and is presented in a professional format.
Build sufficient knowledge with related Open Source projects and partner software products to effectively implement complex integrations.
Collaborate with other team members to resolve systems and product issues on their engagements. Provide post-deployment escalation support for client technical issues.
Share customer and personal insights and experiences with Acquia product managers and engineers, the Drupal community, and other team members to improve software and service offerings.
Prepare and publish reports, documents, and tools to increase the effectiveness of the Acquia services team and increase customer success.
Recognize opportunities and risks in within customer/partner deployment scenarios and communicate with other Acquia teams as appropriate to assure they are addressed.
Experience
Strong customer focus and proven track record of delivering on promises to clients.
5+ years of experience in technical support for enterprise or Internet software applications. Minimum of 2 years experience in a consulting role.
Programming skills in PHP or a related web development technology required. PHP experience strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Small company/start-up experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with agile methodologies required. Experience with one or more agile approaches preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of LAMP stack deployments, commercial databases, and content management solutions.
Competency in SQL and scripting languages strongly preferred.
Administration and troubleshooting experience in commercial Unix and Windows server environments strongly preferred.
Strong presentation/white boarding skills. Must be able to engage in project discussions with your client counterparts.
Strong problem solving abilities, initiative, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Experience working with geographically and culturally diverse teams.
Experience providing technical support or consulting for content management or collaboration software preferred.
Experience providing technical support for Open Source applications preferred.
Strong consideration given candidates in the Boston area. San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and DC-area candidates also considered. DC-area candidates must have federal experience and be US citizens.
Ability to travel as required, up to 100% at times.
Education
College degree in computer science, mathematics, or other related technical field.
