Senior or Principal Power Electronics Engineer (Redwood City, CA)

Overview
Atieva is a VC funded Silicon Valley startup company that develops advanced electric powertrains for electric vehicles. We are looking for an experienced power electronics engineer to lead the development and commercialization of advanced power electronic products including state-of-the-art motor controllers, battery chargers, electric motors, battery packs and other electric power systems.
Responsibilities
Lead power electronic product development and manufacturing support
Power electronic advanced technology development and application
Responsible for power electronic circuits and control electronics
Contribute to power electronic mechanical engineering and thermal management
Contribute to digital control algorithms, control firmware, system integration and vehicle engineering
Project management, and vendor and customer interaction
Experience
Over 15 years of industry and research experience in power electronics
Solid experience in power semiconductor devices and application circuits
Over 7 years experience in leading AC motor drives and switching power supplies
Solid experience in analog circuits, digital electronics and embedded hardware
Experienced in electric motors, motor control, battery chargers and electric vehicles
Experienced in product development, IP development, and project management
Skills
Solid understanding of IGBTs and MOSFETs and their applications
Strong skills in power circuit design, construction, heat transfer, testing and failure analysis
Familiar with DC/AC, DC/DC and AC/DC topologies including resonant and soft-switching circuits
Familiar with circuit analysis, control system analysis, and mechanical and thermal analysis
Familiar with PCB layout, EMC, EMI, DVT, and electronics manufacturing and testing procedures
Strong project management and communication skills
Education
BSEE min, MSEE or PhD preferred in the areas of power electronics, power engineering or electric

machines
