This is an opportunity for work in fast growing startup in the entertainment industry. The job requires 7 to 10 hours per week, at minimal 2 days at the office working directly with the CEO. We are looking for an intern to assist with our social media marketing efforts. You will be an instrumental member of the marketing team … You will learn the ins and outs of our business and how to make social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts. We will offer some compensation in the form of performance bonuses, so yes we will pay you.
Interns are expected to have experience with social media on (at least) a personal level (use on a business level preferred). You must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into a business’ marketing strategy, not just “selling” to our customers, but building long-lasting relationships by providing value to them. As an intern must be able to assist in formulating social media plans and carry them out. You must be able to measure and document the impact of social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact. This position requires high quantity of task on a weekly basis, you must be comfortable working in a fast paced and excellent at multi-tasking.
Maintaining profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Uploading videos, photo albums, etc.
Creating user profiles on our social platform (SEO tactical)
Recruiting talent online, measuring new sign-ups, followers, friends and others engaged with our brand
Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc. (Done on our internal WordPress engine)
Tracking the growth and the impact of social media on our business
Replying to comments, messages, etc. (staying engaged)
Providing weekly recaps of successes and highlights
Consistently learn and grow, ask pertinent questions
Ability create and upload Twitter & YouTube backgrounds, and minor video editing skills are a plus
2 years experience managing multiple Social Media accounts- familiar with Hootsuite
Experience proofreading and editing, excellent written skills
Knowledge of digital media software – Photoshop or other graphic design software, etc. is preferred
Knowledge of video editing software – iMovie, Final Cut, or Windows Live Movie Maker is a plus
Knowledge of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
Be knowledgeable of the entertainment industry (musicians, dancers, artist, models, actors, etc)
Be creative with an eye for good design
Willingness to create video blogs, write press releases, and Facebook posts daily
Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that consumer through social media
Ability to deal with uncertainty and move fast
Ability to change direction quickly and take direction as needed
Junior or Senior University Student. Must be studying Business, Advertising,
Marketing or IT (Information Technology)
