Overview
We're a Switzerland-based startup, building the future of local search called LocalUncle. We built an iPhone app that gives you the ability to know what's happening anywhere in the world, right now. Sounds magical? It is! Yes, this is "TELEPORTATION-AS-A-SERVICE" and yes, it's from the future.
Have you ever wondered how long the line was for your favorite bar, right now, before heading out there? Or whether the WiFi at a certain coffee shop was up and running? Or how bad traffic was right now in a certain neighborhood? Well, wonder no more and enter LocalUncle: We built a teleportation service that lets you visit places and areas before/without actually going there
LocalUncle sits on top of Foursquare, the most popular check-in service in the world. After connecting your Foursquare account to LocalUncle you can start asking questions about places and areas you care about. We then route your questions intelligently and in real-time, to other LocalUncles who are currently at these places. If nobody's there, we route your questions to LocalUncles who have been there recently and often. You'll typically get an answer, from a real human being, within 5 minutes or less.
We're looking for our first non-tech hire (intern) who wants to join our team and help us reinvent local search.

Responsibilities
Monitor, moderate, reach out to and engage with our LocalUncle community
Talk to users, gather feedback and come up with great new product ideas
Reach out to and manage press
Tweet, Facebook, YouTube, blog, dailybooth, instagram, pinterest, WUPHF etc. the bejesus out of the interwebs
Work closely with the two founders, bring new and creative ideas to the table on how to improve product, distribution and any other aspect of the organization.
Experience
Exceptional writing skills
Experience is a plus but not required. Like already mentioned, you can be “new” to social media and web/mobile startups but have to be excited about this field, willing and able to learn fast
Skills
Super creative but also quantitative and analytical
Very interested in the web, social media, mobile (especially iPhone). Ideally, you read TechCrunch, Techmeme, blog regularly and have a bunch of followers on Twitter.
Proactive, driven, friendly, intriguing and a bit crazy
You should be ready to ride the high highs and the low lows of startup life with us and keep it cool. We’re in it to win it, and so should you!
Education
Student, or recent grad in Marketing, Business, Economics, Communication, English Literature or equivalent. Actually, your background doesn’t really matter. You can be an astrophysicist, architect, lawyer or burnt out Wall Street banker looking for a career change. If we see the fire in your eyes and are ready to learn, you just might have found your startup!
Compensation
You'll start as an unpaid intern for the first few weeks. If you prove yourself, we'll turn it into a paid position.
