SUMMARY
The Software Developer, Client Technology is the software engineer and programmer responsible for development of client software technology at American Standard TV. This position will focus on building the underlying platform technology for TV set-top boxes with dynamic user interfaces, rich media integration, working with HD video, custom OS support/Linux, and other great things like P2P.

SUMMARY
The Software Developer, Client Technology is the software engineer and programmer responsible for development of client software technology at American Standard TV. This position will focus on building the underlying platform technology for TV set-top boxes with dynamic user interfaces, rich media integration, working with HD video, custom OS support/Linux, and other great things like P2P.
Responsibilities
Help build a service that will crush Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, and your Cable Box.
Collaborate closely with product design and technology team, sourcing requirements and inventing solutions.
Research, evaluate, test, deploy, and maintain software development tools and utilities.
Experience
Embedded Linux, distribution customization and kernel compilation experience and on processors such as ARM and MIPS.
Digital media technologies including, streaming video, digital television, IPTV, Adaptive Bitrate Streaming, VOIP, etc.
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Distributed technologies and architectures, including Distributed Hash Tables (DHT).
Mobile devices, consumer electronics, portable devices, etc.
Skills
Expert level knowledge and experience implementing multi-threaded applications and daemons on Linux using C/C++, incorporating multimedia, metadata, databases, web services, and cryptography.
Expert level knowledge of HTTP and related networking protocols and technologies.
Understanding of dynamic client-side and server-side Web/HTML languages and technologies including CSS, AJAX, XHTML, DHTML, and JavaScript.
Experience with Task Driven Development and iterative Agile Development
Ability to take and give direction
