Candidates with strong software development skills (C++, Java, Web technologies), and experience creating effective, capable APIs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include:
Design and develop desktop, browser and backend (cloud and server) APIs for third parties embedding Aspera's high performance data and file transport software
Create developer documentation and code samples for the Aspera Developer Network (an online community portal for Aspera software developers)
Develop and maintain unit and system testing frameworks for the SDK, and ensure correctness, robustness and usability of the developed software and APIs
Support 3rd parties using the APIs with expert troubleshooting and best practices education
Contribute creatively to the evolution of the product line
Skills
Some combination of the following skills are ideal:
Excellent programming skills in C or C++
Excellent ability and passion for correct code and design patterns, with debugging expertise (including code developed by others)
Knowledge of Java and .NET frameworks
Strong understanding of REST and other web services design principles
Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and other current front end dynamic/web programming, and back end frameworks such as Ruby on Rails
Past experience developing, defining, and expert use of software APIs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly self-motivated and able to achieve results on tight timelines
Desire to change the world of network data delivery!
Education
B.Sc or greater in CS/Engineering or related discipline. MSc or PhD is great too.
