Adap.tv is seeking a smart engineer to join our Forecasting and Optimization team. Our customers have access to a large amount of inventory from various partners to show their ads. Adap.tv provides solutions that help in forecasting their inventory and optimize across the inventory on various performance metrics. The Forecasting and Optimization team focuses on developing new models, algorithms, and tools that predict the performance of an ad on a given inventory. This opening is for an experienced researcher in applied mathematics, statistics, informatics or other areas of science with an emphasis on data mining and analysis of data. We are especially interested in engineers with expertise in developing models based on findings from data mining efforts and understanding variability and spurious/biased findings (i.e. statistical validity) that may come from data mining projects.
Build predictive models based on millions of ad transactions.
Deploy statistical methods for finding structure in large data sets
Design A/B tests to determine effectiveness of various strategies.
Define complex SQL and other data extraction schemes to gather and filter needed data.
Develop, train, educate others in Statistical Sciences and other technical disciplines in research and business on the use of data mining methods and tools.
MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related areas. Extremely strong candidates with a BS and related work experience will be considered
Deep and broad knowledge of data mining methods and tools – able to reduce problem to mathematical/statistical questions/hypotheses that can be answered through data mining
Strong ability in data modeling by using machine learning techniques
Database experience required
Strong programming skills
Teamwork and leadership skills
Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables
Prior experience in advertising industry is a plus
