My client is a smaller, mature start-up, founded in 2003. They recently received over 20M in funding and are poised to go public in the near future! Their products service the need for an on-demand subscription billing and chargeback management solution for online merchants. Over the past seven years, their capabilities have broadened to support a wide variety of business models, from subscriptions, to micropayments, to supporting merchants who need virtual currency as well as usage-based billing.
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer who has experience diagnosing complex application issues and troubleshooting time-critical production problems. Team members will be responsible for the development and support of web site applications including both customer facing and backend components.
You will also be responsible for providing support as part of a cross-functional SWAT team, whose primary focus is to diagnose and address high-priority site issues, working in concert with Merchant Support Teams. You will recommend and implement changes to the site that will enable our client to optimize and grow.
Research and diagnose complex website production and efficiency issues.
Provide applications support to the Technology Operations team as needed.
Recommend and build error handling and automation to create system efficiencies.
Estimate and meet timelines for development releases.
Develop and execute unit tests.
Create, maintain and report status from project task lists.
Interact with business product managers to gather and maintain project requirements.
Interact with QA department to coordinate testing activities.
Proactively participate in maintaining team standards and best practices.
1+ Years strong Perl Programming experience
5+ years experience working with Object Oriented Programming methodology
MUST HAVE experience working in a Production Environment, where your core focus was to debug complex lines of Object Oriented Code.
BSEE, CS or related technical degree.
Extensive experience with Object Oriented Language, Perl, Oracle, SQL, Linux and/or Unix derivatives.
