Overview
We're searching for backend software engineers to join our engineering team to work on scaling our core infrastructure. You'll get to work on a large system that serves billions of full-stack requests per month, so you should love solving big problems by applying efficient, simple and elegant solutions. You'll focus on effectively scaling existing systems, databases, serving and storage infrastructure, and in turn will enable other teams in engineering to do their jobs effectively.
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, reliable core infrastructure
Build high performing frameworks, systems, databases, and libraries that allow us to grow rapidly
Code using Ruby
Contribute to an agile, collaborative team environment
Experience
Prior experience with distributed systems, large databases, or web infrastructure at scale
Previous work in mission-critical, high performance environment desired
Contributions to open-source software projects a plus
Skills
Computer Science fundamentals
Solid understanding of web technologies, MySQL, Ruby on Rails, and Unix/Linux
