Software Engineer / Technical Support Engineer

Overview
Come to the head of the line if you have some experience with Perl (who has that these days? ;-), some experience with Linux commands, and previous tech support experience.

You: You are an enthusiast. You were probably more likely to play video games than to play baseball. You may have taken more toys apart than played with them as intended. Your friends tend to go to you for help with printing - and you don't mind. You can always figure it out. Usually, its a network issue. You don't have loads of real-world work experience, but probably more technical knowhow than those that do. And you have initiative and a strong sense of responsibility. You have a wide range of software skills - you've poked around everywhere and are comfortable picking up the next thing. You can even learn some Perl ;-) You also want to learn about ticketing systems, and are ready to become a pro in software delivery and implementation.
Responsibilities
Own client support tickets to be managed through to resolution and to the client's satisfaction

Talk and email with clients to give technical support 

Provide clear and concise answers (over phone and email) to complex technical questions
Good knowledge of Windows and Linux server platforms - experience with Linux commands!

Able to install, build and maintain computer software and hardware

Good understanding/good networking concepts
Experience
Experience with Perl, Apache, SQL VBScript & Active Directory, some Bash Scripting
Experience managing and querying relational databases
Education
* We'd like to see a degree in computer science or a similar discipline
