Responsibilities
Lead design of and participate in development of genomics data management, analysis, visualization, and collaboration platform.
Work closely with computational biology and users to understand domain-specific workflows and use cases. Design and implement web interfaces for managing DNA datasets.
Figure out how to simplify basic use cases, while still allowing access to full feature set when appropriate.
Plan and conduct usability studies on website flow, discoverability, task completion.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years experience in occupations in HCI (Human-Computer Interaction)
Proven design experience of large-scale data management user interfaces
Worked with large dataset visualization
Graphic design work
Skills
Web and data visualization programming technologies
HTML
CSS
JavaScript
Illustrator/Photoshop.
Education
Requires Master’s degree in HCI, or related technical field
