Overview
We're a startup with more business than we can handle, from global customers. We need an energetic, people-oriented SQA engineer to become an authority on how our systems operate in the real world, keep a sharp eye on our test harnesses, identify and document issues with our software, and occasionally provide technical support to our business customers.
This a great opportunity to get in early with a lot of upside. Our cloud services startup already works with major customers in an exciting Web 3.0 space. We focus on device interconnectivity over the web, have a green energy component, are well-connected to businesses, have strong partners and are VC-funded.
Our product is primarily enterprise and client web apps, and some embedded mobile apps. Our team consists of motivated self-starters and successful engineering and business professionals. We have high standards and want to work with you if you exhibit unusual drive, can deliver results, and share our passion. You absolutely must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Creativity and utside-the-box thinking is welcome. Examples of your writing are encouraged. You will work primarily from our east bay office, which is close to BART. Occasional remote work from home can be arranged.

Responsibilities
Test, identify and document issues with our software against hardware and other software systems; maintain test harnesses and QA physical and software environments; create and update user documentation; provide occasional technical support to our customers.
Experience
One or more automation tools such as Selenium, Load Runner, Silk etc.
Scripting ability in automation tool languages (describe what you can do)
Bug and project tracking tools, especially Jira/GreenHopper and Bugzilla
Documenting to a wiki such as Confluence or MediaWiki
Testing on IE/Firefox/Safari/Chrome browsers, and their various development and debug plugins
Preferably: Linux command line experience
Preferably: Familiarity with cloud-based apps, such as social or consumer portals
Preferably: Embedded mobile device application experience
Preferably: MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Python
