Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer

We have a great opportunity for a Sr. QA Engineer that possesses a solid understanding of automated testing, is willing to learn fast, and can raise the quality bar for many different teams of developers working on accelerated schedules. One who can maintain a sense of humor under pressure. We focus on the quality of our products by manual testing, automated testing and influencing the development processes. This would include building automation test frameworks, driving the invention and adoption of automation tools, and advanced test methodologies.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape both the Curriculum & Content Management Services portion of the Amplify Education, Inc. business.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer:
You will be a part of a team that will own the entire Q/A Test process
You will automate the testing of scalable, reliable, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems. We are an open source house using Java, distributed programming principles, and Object Oriented design
A successful candidate will have experience owning changes in QA, development, maintenance and system standards
Develop and execute formal test plans/test cases to ensure the delivery and quality of applications
Test, Debug and report product issues
Identify risks and escalate when appropriate
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in automated systems or software testing
1+ years’ experience programming in languages such as Shell Script, Python, or Ruby. (This position will require some programming)
1+ years’ experience with SQL databases
Proven ability to design and implement test automation using test data generation tools and file structure/content validation tools
Proven ability to strategically identifying new tools, processes, and techniques for increasing quality and eliminating redundancy
Preferred Qualifications:
Skilled Python programming experience
Skilled shell scripting experience
Experience with automated testing in Selenium
Experience with automated testing of Android and IOS devices
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
Experienced in interacting and coordinating test activities amongst multiple teams
Good oral and written communication skills
Skilled in risk assessment and impact analysis for software applications
Knowledge of or willingness to learn with MySQL and “Big Data” is a plus (Hadoop)
Digital asset and rights management a plus. (DAM/DRM)
Experience in Agile environments
