The Jive Intelligence Engine team is looking for experienced software test engineers to work closely with developers to build, test, and improve big data processing pipelines. Our team works extensively with open source software on big data, social graph, and machine learning problems. You will have the opportunity to work with and contribute to various big data open source technologies: Apache Hadoop (http://hadoop.apache.org/), HBase, Pig, ZooKeeper, Flume, Mahout and other open source projects. You will frequently work with multi-terabyte data sets spread across multiple compute clusters as you design and develop automated tests for systems built on these technologies.
You should have solid software development and testing skills, strong systems experience, and great people skills. Your responsibilities will be focused around:
providing unit and mocking test advice to developers
teaming up with developers to create kickass automated integration and system test suites
designing load and performance test systems
supporting continuous deployment systems
test planning, defect tracking and reporting
Minimum Job Qualifications
Proficiency in Java (highly desirable) or C++.
Experience in scripting and interpreted languages (bash, python, etc).
Extensive experience on Linux platforms.
Experience with load/performance test methodologies, design, and tools
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications
7+ years of automated whitebox testing experience.
Knowledge of current open source test tools.
A BSc in CS/EE or equivalent.
Working knowledge of SQL.
Experience in one or more of these areas:
big data, parallel, distributed or grid computing
multi-threaded application development
