APN is looking for an experienced Software Engineer for our Installer team, to improve the current installer design using MSI technology, and build the next generation installer. You will create/maintain robust helper applications written in C++ and research and build new installer technologies that focus on speed, efficiency and compatibility.
•Design: Works within a team to design APN’s installer applications that are efficient, scalable, maintainable and accurately meet the needs of the business.
•Development: Works within a team to develop, refactor and continuously improve various APN installer applications and services. Meets deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Communications: Communicates with members of both technical and business teams through appropriate documentation and training.
•Code Reviews: Able to lead code reviews and provide valuable feedback on performance, logic and maintenance issues.
•Leadership: Leads small teams in the design and development phase for small and intermediate-scale complex projects. Mentors developers and junior developers. Presents design for review and approval by technology management inclusive of Leads, Managers, Directors, etc.
•Project Assessment: Quickly and accurately analyzes small and medium-scale project requests for feasibility, risk and level of effort.
•Deployment: Assists in the release of APN projects in the production environment.
•Maintenance: Participates in the resolution of challenging and demanding problems for partners within the production environment.
•Customer Service: Assists with partner inquiries and resolution of problems.
•Innovation: Actively contributes to retrospective exercises for completed projects. Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use.
•5+ years of industry experience.
•Expert in MSI and MSI-based installer technologies (MSI SDK, Win Setup API’s).
•Expert in C/C++ and Visual Studio programming.
•Expert knowledge of Windows internals, including Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
•Extremely sound software design and object oriented programming skills.
•Proven ability to identify and work with efficient algorithms and data structures.
•Organized, analytical team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
•Master/Bachelor’s degree (CS, EE or Math preferred) or equivalent work experience.
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
•Must be personable and professional. Must be a team-player.
•Must be a competitive, professional ping pong and foos player.
•Experience with Installer tools (InstallShield, Wise Installer, or similar).
•Experience with Windows SDK, UI, MFC and ATL.
•Good knowledge of COM/OLE automation preferred.

•Broad knowledge of browser applications and industries; knowledge of online media and advertising.
•Able to understand business problems, and be creative with strong problem solving abilities.
