Responsibilities
As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for leading development for a large Microsoft SQL Server OLTP Database.
Your responsibilities include building and maintaining a high-performance, scalable database platform. You must excel at performance optimization through great schema design and SQL tuning.

In this role you work with a small, collaborative team of engineers, QA, and product managers – so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also a must.

Experience
5+ years of SQL Server DBA and/or development experience
Expert in troubleshooting issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other types of resource contention
Experience with data modeling and schema design, database architecture and creating a high-performance, reliable and scalable solution
Deep experience with developing and testing all database code such as stored procedures and functions, index management, and general SQL tuning
Competent with DBA responsibilities including: managing physical data storage and partitioning strategies; backup and restore processes; various replication solutions; database maintenance such as index, statistics and integrity checks
Available for production support during off-hours as needed
Experience with shell scripting and Perl

Education
BS or MS in Computer Science or Technical Field
