Strategic Partnerships Manager

Overview
The Strategic Partnerships Manager at AppNexus is responsible for managing business relationships with three types of partners on the AppNexus platform: Inventory Supply partners, Data Providers and other partners across the online advertising ecosystem, and Cloud Services customers. Inventory Supply partners include ad exchanges and publisher yield optimizers who make online ad impressions available for real-time bidding on the AppNexus platform. 3rd Party Data Providers work with AppNexus to enable our demand partners to target inventory and audience on the basis of contextual or behavioral background. Cloud Services customers make use of AppNexus’ robust hosting and data warehousing capabilities.

The Strategic Partnerships Manager will work closely across various functions within AppNexus, including sales, operations and client services, to ensure the success of each partnership. The position reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships.
Responsibilities
Manage the deal pipeline for the Strategic Partnerships team as it pertains to AppNexus’ data and inventory suppliers and its cloud hosting customers
Identify and negotiate new partnerships to meet the business needs of AppNexus and/or its platform customers
Lead bi-weekly operational reviews of key partnerships and develop presentations and updates for partners. Share key performance indicators from each business area with AppNexus senior management.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of ad exchanges, publisher optimizers and tools, ad networks, and advertising technology
Monitor the competitive landscape
Skills
Superior presentation and written communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships across functions at AppNexus and client organizations
Strong familiarity with online media buying and selling, advertising technology solutions, and ad network business models
Solid understanding of the basic concepts of online advertising technology
Familiarity with business development processes and contracts
Demonstrated track record of exceeding performance and objectives as an individual contributor
Well organized and committed to owning and solving problems
Entrepreneurial mindset
Familiarity with mobile and video advertising a plus
Education
* BA/BS degree, MBA a plus
