Overview
Who we are: PUBSLUSH Press is a new kind of publishing company with a conscious. We are an innovative platform linking aspiring authors directly with their readers, and publishing directly with literacy. By allowing the people to decide what gets published, and donating a book for every book we sell, we are shaking up the industry. We work long hours but we have fun doing it. You'll have the ability to explore areas that interest you! There's a lot to be done, so whatever floats your boat, we've got you covered.
Remember, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn (and go above and beyond) are more important to us than specific skills.
Okay, okay, I know this all may sound very serious. And yes, it is pretty serious. But lighten up! (Hey, if you've gotten this far, we think you've probably got some special talent.)
If this stuff doesn't scare you, we want to hear from you. (We are looking for someone who's not only intelligent, but awesome, relaxed, and super motivated.)
Skills
The ultimate candidate will have experience with and/or willingness to learn the following:
HTML
CSS
PHP
MySQL
Javascript
JQuery & other Javascript Libraries
Facebook & Social Media Integration
Working with various APIs
Understanding of AJAX
Valid HTML & CSS -- following W3C Recommendations
Working with Content Management Systems
…plus, you must:
Be able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
Have excellent communication skills -- both written and verbal
Be an excellent problem solver
Have great multi-tasking capabilities
Show extreme attention to detail
You get a HUGE +1 if you exhibit:
Experience with Object Oriented Programming techniques
Experience/knowledge of the Zend Framework
Understanding of design patterns and the MVC architecture
Experience with Apache Web Server
Experience with any Linux distro
Design skills -- experience with Photoshop would be awesome
