Technical Account Manager

at AppNexus in New York, NY   —   May 03, 2012   |  
Overview
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) in the Platform Services Group is responsible for onboarding and servicing AppNexus bidder clients. Bidders are typically Demand Side Platforms (DSPs) who integrate with our platform for access to unique inventory. The TAM works closely with their business counterparts in the Strategic Partnerships group to drive success with these customers.

The TAM has three main success metrics:
** Consult with and train customers who are building on our core platform, helping them integrate in scalable manner which maximizes their ability buy our inventory.
** Diagnosis issues quickly and proactively identify areas where they can improve
** Develop tools and dashboards to analyze business and technical metrics and trends as needed.

This role is perfect for someone with 2-5 years of work experience who loves servicing customers and solving difficult technical problems. A strong technical background is required.
Responsibilities
Become an expert in the AppNexus platform and the display advertising domain generally
Work closely with the Account Manager to implement and train customers, and to analyze business needs and trends
Tenaciously troubleshoot product issues; must be willing to get their hands dirty
Rally internal resources as needed to resolve customer and partner issues
Help build our Global Services practice, including developing training material, customer facing assets, and internal resources
Provide feedback to Product Management, communicating business and technical use cases for new features and enhancements
Share knowledge with Global Services team members
Experience
Requirements:
Passionate about working in an extremely fast-paced, demanding, and fluid start-up environment
Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally
1-5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role
Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken
Strong experience in Internet technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, web servers, and other internet/networking-related protocols
Experience working with APIs a must, with RESTful a plus
Experience with relational databases, especially MySQL and PostgreSQL, preferred
Familiarity with online media buying and selling, advertising technology solutions, and ad network business models a plus
Computer Science degree from a top-tier school
