Travel & Community Writer

Mobile application startup company is presently seeking travel & community writers to assist us in building our online community of stories. We need you document all of the great quirky hidden stories that exist in the neighborhoods of Boston. We believe that stories not only preserve the history and culture of the neighborhoods but they also build a connection to the neighborhood.

Do you write with an attribute in a know-it-all but honest manner?
Are you passionate, inquisitive and can walk around your neighborhood recalling stories about places you pass along the way that are not told in any tour book?

If this sounds like you we need to talk!

We presently have intern positions open in the following neighborhoods:
Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Charlestown, Chinatown, Leather District, Downtown, Financial District, Fenway/Kenmore, North End, South Boston, South End, West End.
Research short stories about everyday places & things in your neighborhood (e.g. the park, the architecture of a building or a statue)
Find the untold, hidden or forgotten stories, maybe a new story about an everyday tourist place
Compose, publish and promote 4 to 10 original stories per month(subject to editing for grammatical content)
75 - 150 word per story
Blog & promote the stories
Self-motivation; this is in the field with minimal office time
Ability to meet deadlines without fail
Excellent grammar and written communication skills
Good understanding of Social Media
Wordpress: not required but nice to have
Internship/ClassCredit/unpaid with possibility to move into a paid position
