Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled UI Designer / Front-End Developer with core design strengths and a love for HTML/CSS/JS (LAMP experience is a plus). The candidate is expected to have deep knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, frameworks/libraries (eg. JQuery), HTML/CSS and understands the big picture in the client-server relationship that Web 2.0 technologies introduce. Other responsibilities will include: CSS creation and optimization, managing cross-browser development, and general project execution as a developer in a team. We seek individuals that are excellent communicators, manage their time well, have high energy level and can work independently after a complete project briefing, or effectively and reliably in a team environment on larger projects.
Experience
Candidate must have a strong portfolio of recent UI and UX work
Meticulous attention to detail, especially with regard to layout and design
Extremely proficient in web interface programming, including HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript/AJAX
3+ years of professional front-end / UI development experience
Brainstorm, research, wireframe, design and refine user experiences for websites, microsites (landing pages), and web applications - all within specified product requirements and deadlines.
Advocate for best practices, great usability/user-centered design and exceptional quality
Compensation
Position is Full time, Part time or Contract.
Individual can be located in Ottawa (Canada) but does not have to be.
