Responsibilities
Work on TripIt's core application platform team to help build elegant, responsive user interfaces for the web and mobile web user interfaces
Report directly to the co-founder and VP of Engineering and work alongside TripIt's Chief Architect
Write front-end code in PHP, HTML/CSS, and Javascript
Implement new features and optimizes existing ones from controller-level to UI
Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, interaction designers, and back-end engineers
Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
Pro-actively look for ways to make TripIt better
Experience
At least 3-4 years of prior software development experience
Deep experience with application development in HTML, CSS, and Javacript, jQuery experience a strong plus
Experience developing technical design documentation and participating in a technical design and code peer review process
Skills
Strong understanding of web and web-related technologies
Server-side application development in PHP, Python, Perl, or Ruby
Solid knowledge of SQL and development of database -backed web applications
Familiarity with one or more relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle)
Solid development habits and practices
Natural problem-solver and troubleshooter
Comfortable working in a GNU Linux/Unix environment
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
