Castlight is looking for a user experience designer eager to empower consumers to brave the health care jungle – a consumer advocate who will create a refreshingly simple user experience.

Responsibilities
Conduct discovery tasks such as field research, interviews, surveys, and testing. Translate insights into useful, intuitive interactions to benefit the user.
Build on a company and product culture that values excellent consumer experience above all
Build stories that communicate interaction and design concepts, work with other teams through concept, design and build
Develop designs for a user-interface mockups
Be a voice of User Experience (UX) within project teams and communicate with other departments to build consensus around your point of view
Drive best practices with an eye toward repeatable design patterns, localization, scalability, and ease of maintenance
Experience
Expert knowledge of web application design and usability principles, issues and techniques.
Excellent eye for simple, user-friendly designs
Ability to design multiple innovative solutions to complex problems
Ability to understand quantitative issues and technical restraints in the design process
Familiarity with web interface technologies – this is not an interface engineering role, but requires close collaboration with UI Architects and UI Engineers
Understanding of and respect for the role of the consumer in the business of health care
4+ years of user experience and design for web applications
Demonstrated prior success working with cross-disciplinary teams in a collaborative environment
High sense of integrity and awareness of how product decisions can impact individual lives
Excellent communication skills—ability to draw out critical information from users in conversation and deduce key lessons for the product
Excellent mockup skills—ability to quickly create visual UI mockups
Excellent writing skills—ability to take the essence of a message and communicate it in few words
Excellent teamwork skills—ability to work collaboratively with various functions (e.g. engineering, marketing, business development)
Entrepreneurial self-starter, problem-solver, and multi-tasker
Passion to help empower individuals with their healthcare
