Overview

Mint is looking for the rare and wonderful talent that can marry a background in interaction design and web development with a passion for making personal financial management engaging and entertaining. As a member of the Product team at Mint.com, you will be involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from ideation to implementation. Specifically you will be responsible for the visual design and interaction design of our product. This position requires heavy interaction with Product Managers, Marketing and our very talented front–end engineering team.
Responsibilities
Know Mint users (be the ball) – Organize and manage usability sessions, develop mental models and task analysis, apply qualitative and quantitative methods for achieving clarity into the pleasure and pain derived from the Mint experience.
Think creatively – Design the best product on the web. Focus on simple and clean experiences. Don't be afraid to explore non-conventional approaches to address conventional problems.
Apply your skills/use your tools – Engage in concept visualizations, wire framing, prototyping and, generally, articulate the user interface designs that will make Mint.com intuitive, informative and a pleasure to use. Author designs documents and author visual specs. Deliver creative assets and html to engineering.

BS or equivalent background in Human–Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent
5+ years of web design / development experience, some freelance is a plus
Solid working experience with Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / Flash / Flex for concept visualization. Ability to draw or otherwise wireframe user experiences from frame-to-frame is a plus
Fluent in standards–compliant web development, Javascript / DOM / DHTML experience preferred, Advanced understanding of CSS and XHTML specifications
