Overview
PlayMesh is looking for a ninja User Experience Designer who simply loves designing and playing games. You must both be knowledgeable and passionate about intuitive user interfaces, user behavior, look and feel, user-testing, user-flows and all the details in between. As a designer, you must be an excellent visual artist who is able to easily and quickly transform concepts into design elements or light weight prototypes. As someone who is inherently analytical and detail-oriented, you must also be able to balance multiple projects at once without losing sight of the big picture. Past experience creating intuitive websites, micro-sites, mobile apps, or other rich media applications and interactive initiatives is required.
Responsibilities
Create comprehensive user-flows
Efficiently design low and high-fidelity wireframes
Build high-quality comprehensive UI design Mockups and be able to efficiently convert it into design elements
Create high-quality graphics, which may include anything from pixel sprites, vector and bitmap images, icons, etc.
Conduct and lead user-tests and convert the data into action items for improving usability
Participate in fast-paced design iterations with product managers
Adopt and expand styles and visual language for previously released games
Collaborate with client-side engineers to create implementations of UI designs
Be an expert on competitive products/experiences and bring new ideas to the team
Experience
2+ years of experience in interactive media design
Solid experience with XHTML and CSS
Excellent and highly efficient Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills (must be very comfortable with paths, channels, masks, blending options and all effects)
Passionate and knowledgeable about user experience best practices, and user-centered design
A strong portfolio of executed User Interface designs
Understands the capabilities and limitations of javascript and flash
Team-oriented
Excellent communication skills
Swiss typography sensibilities
Digital painting and classical illustration skills is a big plus (Corel, Sketchbook, etc)
Experience with prototyping tools such as Visio and Omnigraffle are a plus
Education
B.A. in Design, Media Art or B.S. in Computer Science, or Interaction Design
