Overview
The AppNexus team has spent the past 3+ years building a world-class enterprise technology platform for the online advertising industry. Every day, thousands of users leverage our powerful infrastructure through our user interface, an ever-growing collection of tools that empowers our clients to manage and optimize the ad campaigns and publisher inventory that drive their businesses. As the UX designer, you will be responsible for the structuring both the user experience and the information architecture for the UI's constantly expanding toolset. Your mission: Create and maintain coherent, clean, intuitive experiences for all our users across the interface.
The User Experience team is responsible for delivering a product that is both extremely powerful and easy-to-use, and as the UX designer you will conceptualize features that guide users through many types of tasks, from trafficking an ad campaign to analyzing data and everything in between.
You will work closely with the product team, UI engineers, and clients to solve tough business problems and get things built quickly. While this is a highly collaborative position, it also requires a lot of independent thinking and decision-making. The successful candidate will be accustomed to working iteratively, testing ideas, challenging assumptions, and abandoning the occasional dead end.
Responsibilities
Participate in gathering and prioritizing client requirements
Develop a deep understanding of our users
Construct scenarios, wireframes, flow diagrams, and/or other models to explore and communicate user patterns
Design clean, elegant, sophisticated solutions through iterative, lightweight wireframes and prototypes
Validate ideas through field research and user testing
Defend design decisions with user-centered arguments
Present solutions to stakeholders for buy-in and implementation
Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Evangelize user experience throughout the organization
Skills
2+ years of professional UX or interaction design experience (an enterprise software background is a plus).
Excel at creative problem-solving and are skilled at moving a project from ideation to implementation.
Ability to think on your feet and defending your ideas, so you're comfortable communicating complex visual ideas collaboratively, whether at the whiteboard or on a napkin.
Proficiency with a tool like OmniGraffle is a must for creating wireframes and prototypes
