Overview
Want to turn digital stuff into physical stuff? We believe that 3D printing is the new way to manufacture anything you want. Using 3D printing we enable our users to design, personalize, buy and sell their custom-made products (puzzles, gadgets, trains, jewelry, art, etc). Shapeways.com is home to a large and diverse community of artists and enthusiasts, who engage in everything from collaborative creation to selling their 3D designs as products through the unique Shapeways Shops, an international marketplace for user created 3D printed products.
We are seeking a designer who builds beautiful web and app interfaces all the way from conception to code (css). You will drive the user experience across Shapeways including visual identity, user interaction, and the future of our service! You're comfortable; taking a big picture view of the overall user experience or diving deep into a complex user flow. We are helping normal people build real world objects that they previously could only dream about, your job is make that process feel ridiculously effortless and fun!

Responsibilities
Design and implement a jaw dropping and immersive web experience for Shapeways
Work closely with Product and Engineering to make sure designs flow smoothly and are built to spec
Brainstorm new feature ideas, taking user feedback and metrics into consideration
Help define and grow the Shapeways brand both on and off site
Create, maintain, and enforce a style guide across the site and company
Experience
2-3 years experience working at a consumer facing web or app company (start-up environment preferred)
Experience working hand in hand with an agile development team.
Skills
Thorough knowledge of CSS and HTML5.
A strong design and usability sense driven by the ability to step into a user's shoes.
Comfortable with rapid prototyping and A/B testing your designs.
An understanding of current web/mobile technologies, standards, and how the ecosystem is evolving.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
A love of all things internets.
