VP, Engineering

SoundCloud is looking for a VP engineering to manage a rapidly growing team of engineers. You'll be working closely with our Chief Architect and CTO in planning the future of the SoundCloud platform to handle tens of millions of users. You'll also be working with product management in planning product updates.

You are an excellent team player & leader, keen on new challenges in a start-up environment. You love and live music and sound. You perceive every challenge as an opportunity and prefer organizations that enable and execute versus hinder and constrain. Plus, you dig Berlin too!
Coordinate the technical workforce of a growing organization, currently consisting of 5 scrum teams with over 20 engineers
Design product & scaling roadmaps together with our Chief Architect, CTO and Operations team
Organize team activity to execute on the product & scaling roadmaps
Evaluate technical solutions with an eye on budget constraints
Co-manage technology hires and headcount planning together with HR
Ability to lead agile teams of 50 people or more across multiple locations on an international scale
Experience in resource allocation, project management, budget management, and related tasks as required in a fast paced, dynamic, high technology environment
10+ years experience with web technology and larger software projects
Great written communication and documentation skills
Knowledge of scrum/kanban and related agile software development practices
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computers Science, Electrical Engineering or related technology field
