Overview
UpToUs is an online solution that brings parents together to privately organize their kids' classrooms, sports teams and other extra-curricular activities. With thousands of active families using the service, UpToUs is already a local leader in Palo Alto and nearby cities. Some reference users include YMCA mid-peninsula, AYSO region 26, Oak elementary, Escondido elementary, PACT school, CCLC day care center, Heads Up day care center, Scouts troop 50, Bay Area Chess and many more. UpToUs is already generating initial revenues from advertising and value-add services.
Responsibilities
This is a huge opportunity for a highly talented hands-on software engineer to make the leap into entrepreneurship and management. We are looking for someone to lead the product management and product development efforts for a product that is already engaging thousands of loyal users. We need a hands-on person who can make decisions and work independently.
Candidates must be local in the Bay Area and be able to work for 6-12 months without a salary. A significant stock package will be offered to the selected candidate.
Skills
Required technical skills:
1) Java, jsp, HTML, Ajax, MySQL, Hibernate
2) Apache-Tomcat configuration
3) Knowledge of Java Spring - advantage
4) System engineering knowledge - advantage
Required personal skills:
1) Entrepreneurial
2) Great time management skills
3) Independent
4) Hard Working
Compensation
Stock options only. No Salary for 6-12 months.
