The company is transforming the way small businesses manage their receivables. We are looking for a VP of engineering who will lead the development of our entire platform. Primary tasks would be to lead the development of both backend and front-end functionalities (data and business logic), as well as secure interconnection technologies with third party transaction systems (data and payment services). Proven execution records to tight deadlines and high quality output, preferably using project management tools and methods, will be required. Close interaction with all team members on a daily basis, including the business team, the product manager as well as a small team of engineers is also needed. Effective communication and collaboration skills are therefore essential.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of our web platform; both the backend and the initial user interface

Develop an enterprise-wide information security plan

Design secure interconnection protocols to connect with multiple 3rd party interfaces (APIs)

Required Experience and Skills

At least 3 years of experience developing and managing web applications

Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management

Knowledge of Python, Javascript, PHP, .NET, CSS, HTML, XML, JSON, MySQL

Experience with SQL, one or more Javascript frameworks and AJAX

Experience with rapid development and project management methodologies and platforms and tools

Advanced computer science degree from a competitive institution

Previous experience in managing teams in a startup environment

Experience in end-to-end prototyping and production level code
