The Vice President of Marketing and Business Development reports to the President and CEO of WeArePhotographers.com and is a member of the Company’s executive team. The person in this key role will be responsible for providing executive leadership and management of the Company’s marketing and business development efforts, which include: content licensing & syndication partnerships, consumer and brand marketing, and revenue enablement. This person will drive the company’s efforts to position itself as a visionary leader in its market and to achieve its revenue goals.
Drive business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.
Revenue generation and strategic partnerships development and management.
Manage contract negotiation and work with legal as required.
Win early sponsors for new initiatives.
Be a driving force of the overall content strategy.
Prospect, qualify, negotiate and close deals in an aggressive time-frame
Work with the CEO and the other executive team members to identify and develop strategic and partnerships
Strategic planning including market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
Define and direct marketing programs for advertiser demand creation, lead generation. Sales enablement/marketing support: Oversee the creation of marketing materials to support sales/business development; create media kits, online tools; distribute promotional ideas and items.
Develop concrete programs for consumer marketing - audience growth strategies both traditional and the emerging social media channels.
Explore innovative ways to leverage WeArePhotographers.com's core assets - content, technology, brand and emerging platforms. Drive new ideas and foster a culture of innovation.
Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
Develop and manage the Company’s entire marketing budget.
Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
Act as spokesperson for the company with press and analysts and at industry events
10+ years of relevant business development and marketing experience within a consumer-facing Web and Social Media company
Deep knowledge of the emerging trends in consumer web, search and social media as well as supporting business models and technologies
Solid understanding of WeArePhotographers.com's market: products, players, technologies, and contacts in photography market.
Strong communication and presentation skills
A love of photography and significant senior level contacts in the photography landscape
Experience leading both consumer and brand marketing
First-hand experience with a variety of online advertising models including CPM, CPC, and CPA;
Deep cross-functional knowledge of business development/marketing, sales, product management and engineering
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as to set personal goals and manage time
Bachelors Degree from a top tier university; MBA is a plus.
