Lancope is seeking a VP of Engineering to head up or 60+ person engineering team.

The VP of Engineering is responsible for cohesively managing all aspects of the company’s product development and engineering initiatives. This role will provide technical vision, leadership, motivation and direction for the Engineering department made up of Software Development, QA, Research and Product Management teams. This position reports to the CEO.
Lead the company’s product delivery strategy by directing the software development strategies and product roadmap planning.
Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
Drive technical excellence and innovation in the department while continuing to hold the team to a high standard of development and quality.
Recruit, inspire and mentor team members and ensure the right technical resources and management are in place.
Ensure effective processes are established and followed within the development function to deliver new products and features aligning with the company’s product roadmap.
Drive continuous performance improvements and determine necessary technical approaches and cost-effective solutions to achieve them.
Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
7+ years professional experience managing software engineering, QA and product management teams in the network security industry.
Proven ability to manage and direct product management, research, development, QA, and compliance efforts such as common criteria, FIPS and Open Source Code use documentation.
Hands-on technical experience driving technical architecture, looking at the big picture and how the design will fit into the corporate strategy.
Strong product development and management skills with an in-depth knowledge of product development processes, product life cycles, product cost & product reliability.
Experience in product virtualization.
Strong intuition and the ability to produce results, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering required, Masters Degree in CS and/or MBA preferred.
