Video Game Critic

at Entertainment Fuse in Los Angeles   —   Jul 09, 2014   |
Overview
As a website that covers multiple mediums that millions of people are highly enthusiastic for, Entertainment Fuse is seeking experienced and talented writers. A deep interest in video games is required, but having a passion for writing is the biggest necessity. We are looking for people who love to write and have a clear and distinctive voice.

Since we're a website our positions are telecommute, so your location doesn’t matter. Currently, all of our positions are on a volunteer/internship basis. However, we not only offer review materials, access to conventions, and a better spotlight for your work, but we also provide great hands-on work experience in a highly competitive field, which is why we’ve had staff members go to popular companies such as Marvel, NBC Universal, Ubisoft, EGM, and others.

To Apply:

- Email us at Jobs@entertainmentfuse.com with your resume and at least two relevant writing samples. Also, please include the platforms you currently play games on.
Responsibilities
Write interesting reviews, news stories, and features/editorials about the video game industry.
An interest in podcasts, vlogs, and other multmedia content is a major plus.
Skills
Strong command of the English language
Can be personable and articulate through text
A team player who requires minimal supervision
The ability to meet deadlines
Expert knowledge and high interest in different types of video games (major releases, arcade, indie, multiple genres, etc).
Education
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or any other related field is a plus.
Compensation
Currently on a volunteer/internship basis, but will ideally be paying at a later point. Overall time investment will normally be well under 8 hours a week.
