Workyourcareer.com (www.workyourcareer.com) launched in August 2008 as a new model for job searches by creating unique, out-of-the-box recruiting tools that most other stuffy HR/Recruiting companies won’t touch. The premise is to allow Job Seekers the opportunity to mine their way into companies when they otherwise wouldn’t be able to do so by paying a small fee.
Workyourcareer.com recently launched its new "One-Click Referral Service" that allows Employees to post jobs from companies where they work, receive resumes, and forward those resumes on as referrals to the appropriate hiring/recruiting manager.
This represents a smarter way for Job Seekers to apply for jobs because it gives them the ability to get their resume in front of the correct person that is actually hiring for the position. Since Job Seekers are 13 times more likely to get an interview at a company when their resume has been referred by another employee at that company, this represents a great “in” for potential Job Seekers
**Please note that this is an EQUITY/OWNERSHIP opportunity to begin with -- no base salary or hourly rate will be paid for the first few months (you would receive actual stock/ownership in the company). However, a bulk of the work that needs to be done can be completed within the first 4-8 weeks, so for someone who is quick to learn and has the next month or two free, this is a GREAT opportunity to earn stock in a company that’s ready to take off. We do need someone who can commit a minimum of 40 hours per week for the next two months, so if you’re currently working a full-time job, this is not the right opportunity for you (and you should be in a financial position where not earning a salary for the next 2 months will not be an issue). Because we’re very close to achieving profitability and/or potential outside investors within the next 3-4 months, this is a good time for you to come into the company (i.e. we’re not building something entirely from scratch here). Also, you would be employee #3 and would be looked up on as one of the partners of the company, so you will a lot of say in how things are done
In addition to the technical requirements listed at the end, the ABSOLUTE “SOFT SKILLS” MUST-HAVE’S FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
The ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for the company, with a strong preference for someone who can work 50-60 hours per week. You will earn shares of stock for each hour worked, so the more time you can commit, the better for both you and the company.
This is a true start-up environment, which means all of the following: 1) There aren’t pages and pages of processes in place for things – if you need a very structured environment, this isn’t for you. But if you like being able to create processes yourself and work from your own knowledge of how things should be done, this will be perfect for you. 2) Priorities can shift sometimes on a daily basis, and you need to be the type who can “roll with the punches”. Also, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as they come due is absolutely critical. 3) Passion for our company and the ability to treat it like it’s your own are critical. If these three items don’t sound appealing, then this isn’t the right opportunity for you.
**We will not be providing sponsorship for this position – you must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. in order to be considered.
