This is a unique opportunity to be intimately involved with the evolution of 10 startup companies through the course of the NYC TechStars winter accelerator program, as they grow from early stage to venture funding–ready. These are internet/software companies, so a high level of interest in this area is ideal, but is certainly not necessary (you may find a new passion!)
Access to an extensive network of mentors from the world of start-ups, venture capital, angel investment, and law. See: http://www.techstars.org/mentors/nyc
Attend weekly events, with experts speaking on various topics. A few of the [tentatively] planned events are here: http://www.techstars.org/schedule/.
Full involvement in TechStars “social” events with the Founders and the NYC community
Past events include Film on the Rocks, TechStars Community Party, NYC Cruiser Bike Rides, and Poker Night (law firms love sponsoring cool stuff)
Access to any meeting you find interesting – a chance to personally experience the advice that mentors give to the companies on a variety of business issues
Backstage attendance at Investor Day at the conclusion of theprogram (yes, you will work during this event, but you have the best seat in the house!)
Enlistment Dates: January 10th → April 18th (approximately)
Submit a resume (or web links – preferred) and personal statement (max one page each – shorter is cool) describing why you want this position and why you are the perfect candidate.
