About us:
StudentsMove.com is a London / West-Midlands UK based web start-up. It is based on an earlier version (LiveOut.co.uk) which we have run successfully since 2007, however we have outgrown the site and our plans require a full redesign and redevelopment of the site, rebranding it with many more features than the original.
StudentsMove’s goal is to provide everything a student needs when moving house, from initially finding the perfect house / accommodation, to helping them select the best insurance, and keeping track of their bills throughout the year.
About you:
We're looking for a highly capable person who enjoys working with smart, friendly people. As a start-up, our work is challenging, fast-paced, and varied. We want someone who can wear many hats, proactively identify & solve potential problems, and contribute to those around them. We want someone who's good, but even better when they work with a strong team. Are you hard working? Are you hungry for a challenge? Are you fun to work with? Then we'd like to talk to you about StudentsMove.
You'll be risk-taking with the rest of us, working to earn equity, building the company up and ourselves along with it, ideally working closely with the team in the UK, or on a long distance basis.
We are also looking for freelance developers with the necessary skills to build certain features within the site. i.e a web crawler

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing, documenting, developing, testing, installing and supporting our data mining and web crawling efforts. You will work with various available data resources, designs and develop a functional and scalable data repository and framework.
Experience
End-to-end design and development of programs, processes and procedure to extract, scrub, transform and load data into database.
Design, development and administer reporting framework and dashboard to support business requirements.
Develop new algorithms and methods for optimizing data quality
Design test framework
Skills
Experience in data integration methodologies, data staging and real-time updating of data warehouses.
Extensive knowledge of SQL, database (MySQL preferred) and SQL performance tuning
Expert knowledge of scripting in Perl, Python, PHP or other scripting languages
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
