Ideally the candidate will possess strong core web design fundamentals outlined below. Additionally the candidate must possess the aptitude to learn new technologies and enjoy new challenges that may fall outside of a traditional web design skill set. Candidate will need to be exercise good judgment and be able to work independently without constant supervision.
A strong portfolio of work demonstrating excellent visual design and an understanding of information architecture
Expertise in hand-coding XHTML/CSS to create semantic, standards-compliant versions of your designs
Solid understanding of web standards and browser compatibility issues
Demonstrated mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
Strong background in (unobtrusive) client-side scripting (Javascript)
Familiarity with Microsoft web technologies/products such as ASP.NET, Visual Studio, Visual Source Safe, SQL Server
Previous experience designing for large scale web applications is a plus
Ajax and OOP experience is a plus
Copywriting skills a plus
Desktop publishing (print) experience a plus
Art education preferred
