Bootstrap funded start-up seeking smart, passionate, entrepreneurial web developer and designer to join our team. We need you to build and manage a penny auction website. If you are unfamiliar with the penny auction format, please consult Google (some examples include quibids.com, beezid.com, bigdeal.com). We have a great idea that works perfectly in this format and are looking for someone to come on board and grow with us.
We are two brothers, Jason has a BA in Computer Science, an MBA, and experience in start-ups and other small companies. Brian has a BA in History and a law degree with a focus in finance. We are constantly lobbing ideas at each other and believe we have one with great potential. We have laid out basic plans for this venture including web design specs, finances, marketing plans, legal advice, etc. We have a lot of the talent, experience, and knowledge to make this a success, but we are missing one critical piece.
The ideal candidate’s ability mesh well with us both professionally and personally is equally as important to us as is their technical skill. Please read the above section carefully to ensure we sound like the type of people YOU want to work with. We are open to various forms of compensation, but please keep in mind this is a boot strap funded startup. We at least expect that you have other means of income to meet your financial obligations during the startup stage. If you are interested, please reply with a cover letter, resume, and any links to samples of your work.
We want to encourage an engaging company culture from the beginning (ping pong may also be encouraged). We expect you to share your opinion and present innovative ideas to help the company grow. We have not yet decided on the exact architecture and design of the site and welcome your insight. We, with your help, will be building this from the ground up. We have many technical hurdles and hope you will help us overcome them.
