Overview
doggyloot is an exciting and rapidly growing web start-up that facilitates the daily discovery of dog
products at up to 75% off. . We are the #1 site in this space (and, yes, there are actually over ten
competitors) generating increasing revenue each month. We officially launched in February '11 with
just two people, and now consist of a talented full-time team of eight (and counting). doggyloot was
founded within and is currently officed at the incubator at Sandbox Industries. As we grow, there are
more software development needs than ever, and we are seeking an intern to help our Lead Developer
expand and maintain the website which remains the core of our business. This internship is paid and
could have the potential to become a full time position depending on our needs and the fit.

application, but should not be merely a static site. It should contain some significant functionality. (It
should do something.) Triple bonus points for automated tests written with RSpec.
Responsibilities
Building new features and expanding capabilities of website (built with Ruby on Rails/HTML/CSS/Javascript)
Heading up quality assurance by manual testing, writing automated tests, and debugging code
Administrating database and servers
Experience
doggyloot is a Ruby on Rails app, so we are looking for someone who has at least dabbled in RoR, and even if the dabbling starts now for the sake of applying for this position.
Having previous work experience is a big plus, but not critical.
Skills
Talent for understanding and creating high-quality software.
We are seeking intelligence (and the ability to get along well with a team) over experience.
Additionally, while not a requirement, any knowledge of PHP/WordPress is a plus. A portion of doggyloot, specifically doggywoof (http://woof.doggyloot.com) is built on WordPress.
Education
Any form of education in software development will be valued.
