Web Developer (LAMP)

at Pravega Inc in San Jose, CA   —   Jul 01, 2014   |  
Pravega is looking for a jack-of-all-trades to join our team. We need someone with solid LAMP experience who is also comfortable with javascript and other UI related technologies. Being a small team, the new team member will also need to run projects, manage small marketing items (Adwords, affiliates etc.) and help with customer support. Location in US or India.
All aspects of web application development including software maintenance, database design, PHP development, HTML/CSS and Javascript, testing, code/DB optimization, performance/scaling
Project Management (managing freelance developers and external teams), Product design and roadmap management
Customer Support (less than 3hrs/wk), Marketing Support, Other Business Processes such as strategy and budgeting
1-2 Yrs with PHP 5.x, MySQL 5.x, Javascript
Linux Ubuntu
SugarCRM customizations a big plus
Testing - Unit testing, Integration testing, System testing, Security testing
Basic UI design skills (clean, neat, non-fancy), Solid bug-fixing skills with intuitive understanding of bug sources and root cause factors
Solid knowledge of PHP 5x and MySql 5x, Javascript, Jquery, AJAX and MVC concepts.
Experience developing optimized SQL queries.
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Linux server management - Ubuntu
Some Experience with templating, caching, sessions, authentication, API integrations, performance tuning
Experience and knowledge of SugarCRM a big plus
Commitment to startup experience, curiosity and willingness to learn most important criteria
BS/MS in CompSci or EE
Small Salary (will grow over time)
