Web Development Manager, Javascript (APN)

APN is looking for a technically hands-on Software Engineer Manager to lead our Browser Applications development team to research, design, implement, test and deploy cutting-edge features for APN’s browser applications. You will create high-performing, maintainable, high-volume production applications, as well as work with our talented product team to develop prototypes quickly.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Management: Builds an efficient and effective Advance JavaScript development team by hiring, empowering and managing a team of five talented engineers.
•Leadership: Leads a team of web developers with a range of skill levels to design, develop and maintain a suite of Ask Partner Network browser applications and services.
•Communications: Facilitates communication with members of both technical and business teams through discussions, appropriate documentation and training.
•Project Assessment: Quickly and accurately analyzes project requests for feasibility, risk and level of effort.
•Design: Leads the team to design the applications that are engaging, efficient, scalable maintainable and accurately meet the needs of the business.
•Development: Ensures the team meets deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensure high product quality. Participates in design & code reviews and provides valuable feedback on performance, logic, and maintenance issues.
•Deployment: Assists in the configuration, build and release of Ask Partner Network’s projects in the production environment.
•Maintenance: Participates in the resolution of challenging and demanding problems for partners within the production environment.
•Customer Service: Assists with partner inquiries and resolution of problems.
•Innovation: Actively contributes to lessons-learned exercises for completed projects. Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

•BS/MS and 8+ years industry experience.
•Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced start-up environment.
•Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming design and programming.
•Extremely sound software design and object oriented programming skills.
•Extensive experience with browser technologies and internals (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome or Internet Explorer).
•Expertise in JavaScript and web technologies for the browser (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS).
•Must have experience working with prototypal inheritance in JavaScript, along with closures, DOM, namespacing and functional programming.
•Experience working with real-world Web 2.0 technologies - Ajax, JSON.
•Strong programming experience in one or more dynamic languages (Perl, Python, etc.) and static languages (C++ or Java).
•Experience working with syndication technologies such as RSS.
•Comfortable developing and debugging on Windows, Mac & Linux platforms.
•Understand and able to work with differences of client technologies on IE 6, 7, 8 or 9.
•Familiar of and experience with Software Development Life Cycle in Agile development environment.
•Must be personable and professional. Must be a team-player.
•Strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
