Lucky Voice is looking for a developer to join our in-house development team. Founded by Martha Lane Fox, the company has evolved quickly in the last few years from a single private karaoke venue operation to a multi-faceted business with 3 bars, a growing franchise/licensing arm and an exciting online streaming business. Our vision is to provide high-quality, “unforgettable” singing experiences through as many channels as possible and own the ‘social singing’ market worldwide.
We’re looking for an ambitious engineer with a real passion for technology and the web, and a desire to work in a fast-paced London start-up environment. You’ll be joining the team at a truly exciting time; we have ambitious plans for our digital services that will see us dramatically expanding our reach to new platforms and new markets. We need someone with a passion for cutting-edge technology, who isn’t afraid to step into the unknown to solve problems, and who delights in delivering amazing experiences to the user.
What you'll get
* A key role in our team, working directly with our Head of Development
* A great salary (with decent holiday and sick pay)
* A shiny MacBook
* The opportunity to work with amazing new technology, and be part of a culture that embraces the latest and greatest
* To be surrounded by a brilliant team of talented people, from all areas of business
* A unique opportunity to work on a product that delivers unforgettable experiences to consumers all over the world
We’d be delighted if you:-
are fluent in Python 2.6+ and Django
have experience working in fast-paced environments and have worked on large-scale web apps
aren’t afraid of a challenge, and love to solve problems in creative ways
are keen to write well-tested, robust code without a QA department between you and the user
know your stuff both on the server-side and client-side
are able to help keep our cloud infrastructure running 24x7 (we’re a Linux [Ubuntu] shop)
have a solid understanding of web services
Bonus points if you:-
have experience using CoffeeScript (or JS), both on the front-end and server side (think Node.js)
have a good understanding of real-time web technologies (like WebSockets)
have experience with, or an interest in, highly-scalable or distributed systems
are familiar with configuration management (we use Puppet)
aren’t afraid to get on the (pink) mic from time to time!
