Overview
Seattle based startup looking for a graphics and website / web application UI designer to work on a facelift and expansion of our current company website and design the UI for a new online web application. Send resume and link to portfolio to jobs@alcosmart.com to apply.
Responsibilities
Rapidly transform raw ideas into webpage designs with a polished look and feel.
Design User Interface for web application that is easy and simple to use.
Manipulate photos and create graphics and clipart to enhance website content.
Experience
1-2 years minimum experience designing commercial or educational web-products
Experience with Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, fireworks, illustrator. knowledge of dreamweaver a plus)
Skills
Skilled in visual design, page layout, typography, and composition concepts
Strong graphic design skills and artistic sense
Passion for information flow, readability, and interface usability principles
Knowledge of current web 2.0 web-design trends and techniques.
The ability to create and meet project schedules; Iterate and launch in rapid cycles.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Access to Adobe CS software
Ability to convert website designs into standards-compliant HTML/XHTML/CSS markup pages a plus
Fluent in web scripting languages such as JavaScript and PHP another plus
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails a double plus
Compensation
Contract position; Pay depending on experience.
