We are looking for a Web Engineering Expert to become a ground-floor equity partner. Starting salary is 120K with health benefits, and depending on experience and progress, salary may be bumped up when next round of funding completed (target for next raise is 6-9 months).
This is a career-accelerating opportunity for someone with an elite web engineering skill set and lots of energy/enthusiasm. The role will involve coding at first and evolve into management over a full development team. Founders intend to grow the company quickly and exit in 3-5 years. We are currently housed in a Manhattan-based tech incubator with several other exciting ventures being operated and launched – a thrilling environment for coders looking to improve their skills, network, and professional satisfaction. If hired, you will work with a seasoned team of Internet operations and marketing experts to build a new consumer-facing web platform that facilitates win-win lending arrangements between investors and consumers.
Speaking of professional satisfaction, there is no formal dress code at the office and no “9 to 5” requirement. While we want to build a team that can meet and collaborate face-to-face, we are also flexible in terms of allowing time off (when deserved) and working from home or the beach or wherever you are most productive.
Initial architecting and back-end coding
Eventual management of full development team
Prior experience managing development teams and working with e-commerce and/or financial software platforms is preferred but not required. Great communication skills, high intelligence, and fierce motivation are far more important.
Candidates should have expert-level knowledge (or be able to quickly acquire expert-level knowledge) of the following:
AJAX - Specifically JQuery
MySQL + MS SQL
Red Hat/CentOS Linux + Windows Server
Apache 2.0 + Microsoft IIS
Version Control System (subversion / git)
We will be developing in a mixed Windows + Linux environment so knowledge of both is critical.
