Sparkplate is an early stage startup in San Diego. We're looking for an experienced iOS developer with detailed knowledge of the iOS SDK who can help us rapidly deploy our mobile application. Our goal is finding a motivated team member who can help us see around corners and build an app that's stable, doesn't leak, and has a brilliant UX design.
This is a consulting position to start with the possibility of becoming a full time gig for the right person. Please have 3 years of application development experience and be prepared to show us some live apps that you've created.
We want someone who knows social, knows local, and understands the trends in competitive products that will help us distinguish our application.
Bring your advanced programming skills and creative ideas everyday to develop our new and disruptive consumer mobile application.
Lead the development initiatives with creative solutions to problems and challenges.
Deliver reliable revisions in a fluid environment that demands ongoing iteration and product pushes.
Thoroughly understand product development and help shape product direction and features.
Prove to us that you're the best player on the field with an impressive portfolio of mobile applications that show off your ability to wow consumers with an easy to use UI/UX that they just can't put down.
We're OK with new talent, as long as you can show us that you understand the trends in social mobile app development.
Teach us something new at your first interview and give us an idea that can make our app design better.
Verify that you've worked professionally for at least 3-5 years or have equivalent experience with live mobile apps that we can download and play with.
Convince us that you're a team player who can get along with others while assertively defending your positions for the benefit of the company - no brooding egos please.
Strong Objective-C experience, with both Cocoa and iOS development.
Extensive experience with and knowledge of client-server applications and RESTful APIs.
Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycles is helpful.
Strong JSON, SQL, PHP and/or RUBY, HTML5, and other appropriate technical skills that will keep our technology stack stable and reliable.
Passion for testing and a loathing of memory leaks and bugs that inhibit scale.
We respect the ambition of self starters but believe that a degree in computer science or engineering hones discipline.
Candidates with advanced degrees may receive preference.
This is a full-time consulting or part-time position at first, with the potential for full-time employment as we launch our service.
