We are looking for a front-end web developer with l33t skills to join our development team. We are working on some of the sweetest social networking applications and are in need of somebody that can rock XHTML, CSS, Design, JavaScript and jQuery.

Must have 5+ years solid experience coding standards-compliant, semantic XHTML and CSS experience or display an inordinate amount of HTML and CSS mastery. Must know CSS1-CSS3 selectors and be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, with or without the aid of JavaScript. Must be able to code JavaScript like a fiend and be adept using jQuery. Must have experience working with OO JavaScript, function prototyping, Ajax, JSON, mastery of DHTML and the DOM.

While XHTML, CSS and JavaScript are musts, a solid design portfolio will make you shine. Additional pluses are any of the following: experience working with the Google Maps API, mastery of jQuery, experience working with JavaScript widgets, Facebook integration, Twitter integration, or experience in software integration with any social networking API.

Must be good at multi-tasking and working in a SVN/*Nix/PHP environment. Also, a positive, can-do attitude and a passion for web technologies along with your experience will give you a shoe-in.

SpectrumDNA, Inc. is a studio/incubator/investor for next-generation consumer and business digital networked applications for the web and mobile wireless. The DNA stands for "Digital Networked Applications." These applications are often referred to as Web 2.0 applications, web engines, networked engines or "enginets"-- networked applications delivered via networked media (like Web and wireless) that are designed to engage a target audience around a particular type of human behavior, like dating, creating, sharing of content, social networking, ecommerce, etc.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are a small team looking for depth, drive and experience in each person we hire. We need a Senior PHP/MYSQL developer who can come in and quickly come up to speed on our enginets, ultimately taking over development lead responsibilities on one or more of the projects.

You will be defining architecture, optimizing database usage, assessing scalability of applications, but mostly, cranking out code.

Responsibilities:

- Architect and build PHP web applications
- Design and optimize MYSQL databases.
- Implement page designs in standards-compliant, dynamic HTML and CSS.
- Integrate functionality with the app, using Java/JSP, Javascript and AJAX.
- Work closely with UI designers and other PHP application developers.

Required skills:

- Extensive knowledge of object oriented PHP
- Extensive SQL Experience
- Experience developing HTML, JavaScript & CSS
- Experience using AJAX and jQuery.
- Excellent communication skills.

Bonus skills:

- MVC experience
- MYSQL tuning experince
- Apache tuning experience
- DB Design experience

Typical experience:

- A degree in relevant discipline preferred
- >4 years of relevant experience, or a heckuva lot of natural talent... which we do believe in.
