This opportunity is with an unannounced healthcare IT startup lead by a MD/PhD with a successful track record of building and selling companies. The management team includes seasoned entrepreneurs with backgrounds in healthcare and IT. The company leverages proprietary technology developed commercially and through NIH grants over the past decade to bring a unique solution connecting hospitals to the drug and diagnostic discovery programs within life science companies. The position is based in Boston, MA. I can't say more about this publicly right now, but this is an awesome opportunity.

We are seeking a hands on visionary. The primary responsibility for this position is to drive the technology vision of the firm, but also to manage the delivery of the technology platform. The successful candidate will be required to lead and advise internal / external staff on all matters related to technology architecture, deliverables, schedules, and the resolution of technical problems. This position will also require hands-on management, including technical specification development, analysis and design, unit and integration testing, providing support for installations into production, and providing troubleshooting and support/maintenance for production environments. Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills for interaction with customers (both internal and external), clinical and life science research staff, and executive management.

Experience developing and managing health care IT systems/software within a hospital environment is an absolute requirement, with preference for individuals familiar with laboratory information systems (LIS). Candidates must be familiar and well-versed with HL-7, SNOMED, LOINC, and other healthcare standards. Candidates are expected to have experience working with a variety of systems including MediTech, Cerner, Eclipsys, Siemens, and McKesson.
