We are My City Lives (http://mycitylives.com) and we’re looking for a skilled developer to play a key role in the development of our software projects. To start, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our Android app.
About Us
Our platforms (web, mobile web and shortly iOS) enable users to share and explore video content about a growing number of cities. My City Lives takes people beyond Google Streetview to provide a feel for what places and events are really like. With the release of our iOS app we will be able to provide a very unique perspective of “what’s happening in my city” in almost real time.
An ideal team member should be excited to learn more about the core elements of our products (i.e. mobile, online video, city life, etc.) and be passionate about creating meaningful products.

Lead Developer/CTO/Co-founder - for Geo-location video exploration startup in Canada

We’re a startup that just launched our alpha in mid-February and we are really excited to now have a product to show the world. Take a look. http://mycitylives.com

The most common questions we get are:
1) What about Google?
2) Why you and not YouTube
3) How are you going to make money

The answers to these questions are fairly straight forward
1) Google has yet to prove themselves as a community builder, due to the “local” nature of what My City Lives is, community building is our first priority. Also, while we admire Google, they can’t own everything, right?
2) YouTube is an amazing place to be entertained, but it is certainly not a place to find out what’s going on around you nor is it useful to help you find where to go. My City Lives is a place to share your experiences of the places you love, dislike or simply find amusing via video.
3) Currently every location can be sponsored by the location’s owner. There are other streams in the works, such as sponsored search results, supplemental info for traditional media (think tweets in google results), mobile etc.

Co-founder wanted for CTO/Lead Developer role - we're in beta testing in Canada

About Us
We are an online startup that is currently in closed beta. We are currently looking for someone to take on development full time as our CTO/Lead Developer. Our business model was created following a year of research and validated by all of our advisors (read: not banner ad based). Our plan is to generate revenue from Day 1, as we believe this will put us in the best position possible to either find funding or to grow on our own and keep the lion’s share of what we have created.

Since meeting in our Masters program, we have been working full time on this start-up and are now looking for an equally committed third founder. This individual will share our passion, ambition and work ethic.

About the Business
My City Lives is an application which was inspired by collaborative ideas shared at a meet-up we’ve been hosting since January called Creativity Killed the Recession. A mashup of online maps and video, we are helping people find where to go but our platform lends itself to be an excellent tool for advocacy, citizen journalism and entertainment as well.
